Who am I and why am I here? I think it’s about time that I answer those questions again. The number of hats that I have to wear seem to be getting bigger, yet not one of them could ever really define who I am.
I am a child of God and my deepest desire is to become a Proverbs 31 Woman. I am a wife, mother, daughter, sister, mentor and friend. I’m a freelance professional, volunteer worker, and perpetual learner, too. I’m also a storyteller and I want to be able to write stories that are engaging, relatable, insightful and thought-provoking (more than entertaining) all the time.
I hope that eventually, I could make writing a habit and keep this site updated, offering a respite to women like myself, who have to contend with a long-distance relationship with their husbands while raising a family and still have to juggle other roles in life (without even a household helper). This is primarily my electronic journal, although over the years, I have envisioned it to be more than that. Hopefully, after a year or so, this would become a full-blooded blog.
Recently, our family had inadvertently created an enemy with some people living near us and our security has been threatened since then. We have installed all sorts of alarms in our house, including hidden cameras. I have asked myself whether I should continue to keep this blog, or keep it but make it private. In the end, obviously, I have chosen to keep this public. Let me tell you why…
First of all, I started this blog to be able to preserve certain memories, at the same time, share the things that I learn with others more easily. How do I share if I keep things in private? Secondly, being a stay-at-home mom means I have limited opportunity to meet interesting people and share insights with them. This blog allows me to connect to others, especially individuals who both enjoy reading and writing like I do. So, why would I give up that opportunity? Lastly, shouldn’t those rascals be the one scared? After all, I have power that they do not have. And I don’t mean the physical type that they, brutes, possess.
What about you? Do you blog? Will you tell me who you are and why you are in the blogosphere? Thank you.
